What Is Moynihan Gallery & Framing All About?

Really it boils down to evolution!  The gallery today is much different then it appeared 12, 7, 5 or even 3 years ago.  Our customers literally drive the direction of our business and we found they thrive on change.

Kate (an owner) and Allison are the gallery's two principle buyers.  They travel extensively throughout the year to seek out great contemporary home accents, gifts and fine art.  They view and interpret trends in the market place to bring our customers product that is current and appropriate for lakeshore living in West Michigan. 

Seven years is the average length of time our staff has been with the company.

Consequently they are a team that can change the look of the gallery on a dime.  They get the opportunity to do that about three times a year when we repaint and prepare for the Christmas holidays.

Our Christmas store changeover is always ready for debut for the November Gallery Walk, which is the first Friday and Saturday of November. 

Before they moved to Holland, Larry Weller (Kate Moynihan's husband) was framing her artwork.  It therefore seemed natural to offer picture framing as an element to the business.  Weller spent 20 years as a commercial photographer and takes great pride in his workmanship.  Customers pleased with his framing became repeat customers. The framing department quickly grew to be very successful and now contributes a large portion of the gallery's annual sales.

There are well over 3,000 mouldings (one of the largest selections in West Michigan) from which to choose for the perfect match to any art, photograph or keepsake.  All framing is done is the lower level of the store in a state of the art equipped frame shop.
