Shadow Boxes Continued This is an Argentina Gaucho's Boleadora, Riding Crop and Spurs. These items were a gift to our client by their Argentine hosts after a visit there.
Below is a mock-up of how our framer designed and built this shadow box. His intent was to allow the front glass frame to open while still mounted to the wall so one could get a better view and feel the leather.
Notice the black velcro circles that are inlaid as well as the brass hinge. This is so the frame and the glass that make up the door can be tightly sealed. |
Kate Moynihan opened Moynihan Gallery & Framing, Inc. in the spring of '93 with her husband Larry Weller. Kate has a fine art background and Larry was a commercial photographer before they opened the 3,500' gallery.
Larry's daughter Allison Dempkey is the principle buyer for the store and has been working with Kate and Larry almost from the beginning.
The framing production manager, Lisa Lancaster has been an associate since the store opened. Most of the staff have many years with the business and feel like family.
Customer service is the cornerstone of the gallery's success.
